i began drawing when i was
about eight... starting out by copying
spiderman (my all-time favorite super-hero at
the time) from the 80's marvel comic books: the
amazing spiderman and peter parker...
i learned a lot in this period just by studying comic anatomy...
around the age of 13 i stopped drawing all together (except for the scribbles
in my school notebooks when i was bored)... when
i was 17 i first saw joe madureira's battle chasers...
because of his work i was really inspired to start drawing
comics again... since then, (i hope) i've developed my
own style and i also started using the computer
to color my pieces...
i decided to display my art on-line to share it
with other like-minded artists... first i used
www.renderosity.com and www.renderotica.com
(i still upload some work here every once and a while)... people
started taking interest in my work and asked me
whether i did commissions... well i do, so it
was time for a more serious website and i created
www.supafly.nl, my own private little space
on the world wide web...
i get inspired by a shit-load of things... movies,
comics, websites, design, music, other artists... you name it! so to list
all my influences would be plain stupid... but
here are a few things or people
that are worth giving credit to...
joe madureira
simply the god of comics... at least he used to
be... after his failed adventure over at the game
company trilunar he fell from the face off the earth
again! but i still flip through the mighty pages
of battlechasers on a daily basis...
humertos ramos
his style is the shit... he brings the graffiti
style into his comics and that is a garantied
hit for me... crimson was good... out
there is even better!
j.r.r. tolkien
now this was a man with fantasy! middle-earth is
an endless source of inspiration for me... from
the great eagles of the misty
mountains to the galadhrim in caras
galadhon in lothlórien, from the cute little
hobbits in the shire to the
dark lord high up in barad-dűr... i hope
i will have drawn them all before the end
of my days!

justin m cohen
his color pieces are just slamming!
he's my main motivation to keep pushing my cg
skills... he has worked on a few transformer merchandise
that's definintely worth checking out... i'm proud
to say i can write him down as one of my online buddies!
anime/manga
although i don't consider myself an anime artist,
these guys still got some pretty nifty tricks
up their sleeves!

i'm not a person that keeps a daily
journal (my life's just too boring), and
i'm not much of a writer as well... so don't
expect this journal to be updated frequently,
but if i got something real important or exciting
to report i'll write it down here...
